Peking University, Beijing, June 14, 2005: PKU 2nd Korean Culture Festival lasting 10 days has come to a close recently.
The rich and colorful activities in the Korean Culture Festival of this time mainly include: opening ceremony “Sending words for the nice future of China & Korea”of PKU 2nd Korean Culture Festival, lecture series (relationship between China and Korea section, economy section, culture section), picture exhibition on Korean history, culture and tourism, Korean film exhibition and Korean taekwondo show.
On the opening ceremony day, the propaganda platform was packed with people. Students took an active part in asking for all kinds of propaganda materials and writing down their best wishes for the wonderful future of China and Korea. On the propaganda sheet they wrote: “We are good fellows with yellow skin and black eyes, and let’s join our hands in starting a brand new world!” “Friendship between China and Korea remains fresh forever!” During the ten-day period, Korea’s Grand National Party leader Ms Park Guen-Hye came to Peking University and gave a splendid speech, during which she depicted a great blueprint of the friendship between China and Korea for young students of both countries.
The Korean Culture Festival is undertaken by PKU China and Korea Communication Association and receives great support help from not only PKU Party committee，administration, and League committee, but personage and groups of friendship of both China and Korea and Korean top one MP3 brand Iriver Company. The culture festival aims at showing Korean features from all aspects through lively and colorful activities to enhance PKU students’ understanding of Korean culture and the friendship between the young people of both countries, and further promote the development of affiliation, the commercial intercourse and culture communication between the two countries. The excellent fruits of the communication of college students of the two countries get to be displayed through all kinds of activities, which broaden the perspectives of PKU students thus draw much attention at campus and are well received by students and faculties.
