Forum for American/Chinese Exchange at Stanford (FACES): Future American and Chinese Leaders
Peking University, Beijing, Aug 31st, 2004: The Forum for American/Chinese Exchange at Stanford (FACES) composed with public panels including current political and economical issues raised its curtain this morning in the Yingjie Exchanging Hall of Peking University, presented by the Forum for American/Chinese Exchange at Stanford (FACES) in cooperation with the Students’ International Communication Association (SICA) at Peking University:
Sub-Forum topics ranges from politics to economy development, including Challenges to China’s Economic Future: Overheating, Privatization, Bank Reform, Consumerism & American Brands in China and Cross-Strait Relations: A View from Beijing.
Participants are leading scholars in the discussing area and leading figures in practical arena, including President, IMC Asia; former Vice President, Citibank-China, Frank Hawke; Director, China Center for Economic Research, Peking University, Justin YiFu Lin and Managing Director & Chief Operating Officer, JP Morgan-China, Carl Walter.
The Forum for American/Chinese Exchange at Stanford (FACES) is a group of students, faculty, and community leaders, whose mission is to improve the future of U.S.-China relations through education and grassroots diplomacy among young American and Chinese leaders.
Antecedent to this forum SICA once held another international students’ conference between Peking University students with Harvard University students, discussing cultural shocks and fusions between China and the U.S.A.
The discussions of the forum are expected to last for another 2 days.
